The logo of the Diocesan Museum in Santa Severina, 2017
One of the most important artefacts of the Angevin era present in the gold and silver liturgical collection of the Museum is the precious cope clasp in shape of a flower with six petals, made of gemstones, glass paste, gold and emerald pistils, and a big central white pearl.
The image proposed for the Diocesan Museum of Sacred Art in Santa Severina is composed by centered logo and logotype. The logo is a bidimensional and monochromatic stylisation of the Angevin clip. While the logotype (“Arcidiocesi di Crotone – Santa Severina/Museo Diocesano di Arte Sacra in Santa Severina”) creates a hierarchy between the Archdiocese an the Museum.
The design solution communicates non only the contents and artefacts present in the Museum but in the choice of the flower reveals an idea of beauty and continuous renewal that can grow only through the faith, the knowledge and the study of the past.
