La cittadina di Tricarico, situata al centro della Basilicata a cavallo delle proVince di Matera e Potenza, è baricEntrica rispetto ad un sistema forte di identità territoriali entrato solo di recente nell’immaginario collettivo e che è in costante evoluzione.
La storia locale, intrecciata a doppio filo con la vicenda umana e gli scritti di Rocco Scotellaro, rende Tricarico luogo ideale per la realizzazione di un nuovo e vivace parco letterario, il quarto nella Regione.
Un progetto di sviluppo per la città di Tricarico attraverso il recupero degli Orti saraceni richiede pertanto la messa in campo non solo di interventi fisici, ma anche di un processo di governance nel quale alla trasformazione fisica dei luoghi si affianchi in modo sinergico una gestione del processo stesso di trasformazione.

Rurality can be a key factor in the processes of local development, into a sustainable reference framework based on a resilience principle.
The town of Tricarico stands in the center of Basilicata, between the provinces of Matera and Potenza, in the middle of a strong territorial identities’ system constantly evolving, which only very recently has become part of the collective imagination.
The local history, tied up to the human story and the written works of Rocco Scotellaro, makes Tricarico the perfect place for the creation of a new and lively literary park, the fourth in the Region.
The project of regeneration of the city through the refurbishment of the Orti Saraceni’s area needs not only physical interventions but also a process of governance where the real trasformation of the places is sinergically associated to a management of the transformation process itself.
